Hello from the Lone Star State !! I am just learning to navigate this site so please bear with me !! I live and garden in NE Texas where every year we raise enough to fill our freezer, fill several cases of jars with all kinds of vegetables and fruits !! As well as keeping friends and neighbors in fresh vegetables !! I hope to get to know people here and exchange ideas, tips ect !! I usually try a few new things each year and this year its tomatillos, ground cherry, and vine peach !! I assume the last one is a melon but until they are on the vine I do not know for sure !! If you have growing experience with these and have hints that I can use, please feel free to advise !!
Hi Mart, welcome to GardenStew from north (central) Texas. Glad you found us. We love to see photos of gardens so feel free to show off any time you like. Vine Peach is a melon, a variety of Cantaloupe, but is supposed to be really good as jam or pies. That sounds interesting, I may have to find some seeds for next year.
Thanks Toni !! Thats what I thought but still I thought it would be interesting to try it !! I bought a couple more unusual melons for our area and I am anxious to get them started !! Keep your fingers crossed !!!

Welcome, mart, to the best Stew on the net from a still chilly, sick-of-snow and colour deprived Norwegian. Looking forward to stewing with you, so please hop in and make yourself at home.

Wow !! Such a warm welcome from everyone !!! Thank you so much !! And to answer the location question,, I live in Mt Pleasant, Texas !! We are about halfway between Dallas and Texarkana give or take a few miles !! We are in the planting process now since the rain has stopped !! I thought I was going to mildew for a while it has been so wet !! I will try to get pics on after the gardens start growing a bit !! So glad to meet everyone !!
