It's an understated fact that Texas is a lot hotter than some here want to admit. Geeeeezzzzzzzz! Can't wait to get the help I need with my garden. 1st time gardening and blogger.

Hi and Welcome to GardenStew. You ain't seen nothin' yet, this is only May. Still have the hottest part of summer to come....August is usually the time to move into the freezer and shut the door. ;)

What part of Texas are you in?

Ohhh I know it gets hotter. I moved here last year in March, just at the end , if you will, of a 22 mos draught. I live in Live Oak, TX

You aren't too far from San Angelo then. I have only been in that area once about 25 years ago and didn't really pay attention to the growing conditions then.

Yea, there is a Live Oak around the Dallas area too. The only one that came up in the Google search I did was out near San Angelo.
