Good morning from close to the North Pole. :D Actually we're on the same latitude as Anchorage Alaska, but we've got way better growing conditions. Looking forward to stewing with you and to see what's growin at the other end of the clode. :stew2:

Firstly, Hi Eileen- my knowledge of Scotland comes mainly from Ian Rankin's novels, but I'm sure it's far less gritty and far more pastoral than that..Penny and Netty, thanks for the welcome, it's a chilly 65 degree early winter's day here today, so I can feel for you folk with cold winter weather to contend with :)mrgreen: )..Hi to all the Texas gardeners and to FlowerFreak22 in Georgia- the climate here is much the same as the Southern US it seems, at least reading through the postings indicates that much the same plants and shrubs are grown in both places, okra, for example, is something I grow every summer.
Hi Droopy..with a username like that, what can I say as one guy to another but, hey, we all have our problems..:)..and KK, salamat Hari, some of my fondest memories are of the fantastic Nonya cooking of Malacca, and of that dramatic ruined cathedral on the headland where, if I remember rightly, St Francis Xavier is entombed. The combination of Strait's Chinese, Malay, Dutch and Portuguse heritage makes Malacca a very special place, in my opinion.
Thank's all for the welcome, and dial-up permitting I plan to post some garden pics in the near future.
