Lousy hayfever

I know lots of you suffer, and I know lots of remedies and tricks, but I just wanted to have a winge and say how bad it seems to be at the moment for Mark and I. The rape seed flowering has long finished, which is normally our peak, so goodness knows when our noses will calm now as everything is coming into flower. I am sneezing, am blocked up, have an itchy mouth, itchy sore eyes and feel tired. And as you know,my occupation is a gardener - you would think I would be immune by now!!!!

Moan over. :-D

 

Shall I have a big box of tissues sent over?
The chestnut trees are blooming over here at the moment and they cause my eyes to itch a bit.

I hope you guys eel better sooner rather than later.

 

I've never suffered from allergies or hayfever until the last couple of years. My eyes - mainly my right eye- is so itchy and I'll all full of mucus. I'm not even sure what sets it off!!

 

You have my sympathy :'( My poor husband is in a terrible way today. I had to run to the drugstore to buy some medicine because he used the last up and we hadn't replaced it I don't suffer from hayfever or allergies (thank goodness) but watching him is bad enough! Hope you're all better soon!

 

I sure hope you feel better soon. Thankfully i don't have the allergies either, but my husband has been off work for the past 3 days. His went to infection and he sure is miserable.

Hay fever is no joke and one never really shake it off.

Someone once told me that Golden Rod (Solidago vigaurea) can be used to treat hayfever problems. I do however not know how it is used. :-?

Apparently Golden Rod is an old-fashioned herb and is used to treat several problems such as kidney and bladder infections, hayfever, and even respiratory infections.

 

Oh, I feel for all of you... I don't get much more than watery eyes and I count my blessings.

I've heard that eating local honey helps increase immunity because it gets some of the pollens into your system so your body can make antibodies. Has to be local though. Anyone ever hear about that? I wonder if it's an old wives tale?

Honey is the best thing to fight allergies. But it has to be local honey, not store bought from who knows where. If you have Golden Rod where you live, then deffinately get some local honey and start to immune yourself. My husbands problem is when he was a teen and grew up down here in Tønsberg, he adapted to the allergy season because of local produce and honey. But! He spent the last 15 years up in Lofoten with no Golden Rod at around. Now he has to go thru it all again. Sigh. But we have been eating the local honey, but it has been the winter honey, not summer honey, so now we have to wait for the bee's to make that, THEN hopefully next season will not be so bad.
