I see this flowers a lot in the neighborhood a lot and sometimes the color of the flower is red, white and pink. I got mine from a local store but I accidentally threw the name tag which was written in Japanese and it was very hard to read.
Pls. help me name this plant. thank you.

They are biannuals. That plant will produce seeds this year. The seeded plants will grow just leaves next year and the following year they will come back and flower.
Sometimes, when the seeds are allowed enough time to sprout and grow the year they drop, they will flower the following year.

Yes, hollyhock. The previous is correct--do let the plant go to seed so you'll have more plants next year. :stew1:

Oh great.. Thanks for naming the plant. I really had no idea.. the wannabe gardener me :-D

Now a lot of you mentioned about the seeding or that it will seed. What should I do with the seed ? Where is the seed ? I'm so sorry.. I sound so ignorant but I really have no idea about the seeding etc... :(

Another question.. I see some of the flowers and my other plants that had bloomed last week and now they dried. What should I do with the dried flowers, should I remove or cut them ? which part do i cut ? Should I just remove the flower or cut somewhere the stem or just leave it ?
