Hi - I'm new to this forum. I live in Basingstoke, England. Basingstoke is about 40 miles west of London. At present we are sweltering in a heatwave.. with temperatures in the mid 90s - which is fine if you have air-conditioning but of course most people in the UK don't! I have quite a large garden which is laid out as an English country garden - unfortunately we have had very little rain in the last few months and as we have a hosepipe ban much of the garden is very dry. So I am hoping we will get some rain soon (and lots of it!).

Hi! Welcome from Dooley and DR. It was 105F here today. Talked to my sister in Phoenix this afternoon. Her thermometer read 118F. It's near her front steps. She was having thunder, lightning and dust. No rain. We had a little thunder, a few sprinkles and no rain. Guess it's back to watering. Anyway, welcome to the hot, hot summer in Arizona. Hope you like being with us. Dooley

Hi SallyJ and WELCOME to the Stew. You have my sympathy about the rain. Last year, Chicago had the worst drought in 130 years so I can feel your pain. Hopefully you will get some rain soon. LoreD
