I was just bragging on how healthy my new water lilies were, only to check on them yesterday to discover there's a problem. Almost all of the pads had brown spots, and some of the edges seem to be "burnt" (which is highly unlikely since we've had nothing but rain the last few days).

Any idea of what's causing this? What can I do to save them?
I've contacted the place where I ordered them from, but they seem to be a little slow in responding. Any help is truly appreciated!

I get that on mine. If it's the outer leaves and the center leaves are nicely green that is normal and they are just getting old. I have also seen this happen when I have added water on sunny days and sprayed the leaves or had a rain that was immediately followed with bright sunlight before the leaves have dried off. The sun shines through each droplet and burns the leaves like tiny magnifying glasses.

You could poke a fertilizer stick or tablet into the lilly pots to encourage a new flush of leaves and just remove the ugly ones.

If the entire plant is declining then it may be a disease. Here is some info about rots.
I hope this is not your problem.

Guess I've got a lot of learning to do about water lilies. I was getting worried that I just wasted a bunch of money.

I too was bragging about my water lilies to find brown spots. Did you find any information on what is the cause?

It's just the natural progression of them... in other words... the leaves get old and then they die off.
