In the spring I had a couple of pumpkin vines pop up in my compost heap. The recent rains have really gotten this vine growing and I have to trim it off the electric fence daily. It seems to grow about 6 inches every day! I think it's going to eat my shed!

I'm not entirely certain it is a pumpkin vine. I'm starting to wonder if it's a Hubbard Squash or a mix of a few different things. Some of the fruits look like pumpkin, some hubbard squash, and some acorn squash? We will have to wait and see but there are tons of little fruits on it. Whatever it is, it's doing better than the ones I actually planted out in the veggie garden!

My mystery vine is still growing at a crazy rate. Here is today's shot, taken just 3 days after the first photos. You can see how it is starting to eat my composter!
