These keep coming back every year. Sometimes a few -sometimes a lot. This year they are shorter than usual but the blossoms are still pretty.

Is that [info]malva zebrina[/info], it is lovely. I had 3 last year and none came back, but with the hurricanes it was a very unusual year. We could have gotten salt water brought in from the storms, bc we lost a good bit of stuff. Thanks for the pic.

I don't know if it is malva zebrina - the original was given to my years ago by an elderly friend from the church we attended at the time. Since we go to a different church now, I don't see her often but think of her when this plant blooms.

I have those by the dozens in my yard each year and love them. They reseed like crazy. This past spring I had to thin them out and ended up giving away almost 60 seedlings and still had a couple of dozen in my bed.

I also have them all over the yard where I laid the dead plants down two years ago as i was cleaning up the beds. Birds love the seeds too.
