heres the story. My hubby went and spent big $$$ on gun parts...needless to say, I wasn't thrilled. so knowing how to soften me up, he took me to the garden center where I got to pick out this! :)

Passion flowers are so complex and beautiful aren't they? I'm glad your husband overspent so that you could get yourself this lovely plant. Does he need any more gun parts by any chance? :D :D

I got a cutting of an red one, it has rooted. When it gets going ( only 10 inches tall now) I'd be happy to send a piece your way, It is tropical and has to be brought in I was told by the original plant owner. It will be staying in a pot and hopefully need trimming to get on the porch come fall. Which comes around the end of september or october round here.

Chubby... at first I thought... she couldn't have had another baby already! :-D
Then I came to my senses (almost) and thought it was another water lily.
But I'm so happy to see that you have a Passion Flower vine.
The flowers are just so unique. I remember the first time my brother saw mine in bloom his eyes got really big and he exclaimed "What the h**** is that thing??!!!
It took awhile to convince him that it was real flower.
    :D

Featherphobia.... I'm surprised to hear that the red one would need to be brought inside in Louisiana.
Unless you're in the northern part of the state?
I haven't seen a red one. Can you please post photos when it blooms?

I started one of these from seed this winter and I am hoping that I see a flower before winter. :) Otherwise the whole plant will have to go to the greenhouse for the winter. and hopefully next year....I will see if it is as pretty as yours. I have always thought these were the coolest flowers. GOOD CHOICE!!!!

That one looks [freakingly] nice. How much this one cost? I love to have them, maybe, inside my kitchen.

I paid about $16.00 (including tax). Definitely worth it. I am no expert but I don't think it could go in the kitchen. It's a vine that needs a trellis and has HUGE coverage potential. It's also labeled full sun.
