Today marks 49 years since I got out of Navy Boot Camp and came home on 2 weeks leave. Where has the time gone?
While it was a long time ago, 50 years for me, the experience is glued to my mind. It is one of the shortest periods of my life with the most memories I can recall vividly. As if they happened yesterday. Jerry

Thanks Captain for your service. I don't think we give enough thanks/thought to those who spend part of their life serving in the military.
dr got out of Navy boot camp in January of 1959. We met early spring of the same year at the local roller rink. He came in with a group of buddies after they had been to The Cheese Box. dooley
In November it will be 48 years since I went to boot camp. I can't say that, the memories from that period of my life are fond memories. I never got outside the US, and it seems that I got to see all worst posts in the country.
