Happy Friday morning. Hope the little bit of rain (quarter inch) we got yesterday morning is enough to keep the plants happy until get home this evening.

Good morning everyone, preparations for an unwanted guest are underway. As her intentions are not yet understood her arrival this weekend has everyone in a tither. If it isn't nailed down it gets put away, she is noted for breaking things. The lady(term used lightly) has no regard for trees or plants. She, like her siblings before her, just blow into town and snap off tree limbs, throwing them anywhere. She takes great delight in dumping water everywhere. Her only redeeming quality is that she does not stay long. Perhaps a song to hasten her journey.......MUSIC MISTRO!!!.......Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene goodnight Irene, I'll see you in my dreams.

Now, what else has to come in....oh yes, the bird feeders are last....

Morning all. Entering day 60 of 100+ temps here....95 degrees at 11 a.m. so no problem hitting that mark.

It's time to start deciding what plants to order for fall planting. Guess I will do that even though I am not sure I will be able to get them in the ground without a jackhammer and pickax

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 14°C and cloudy. Taking my daughter to work soon and then home to do some housework. We were supposed to go to the family cottage today but my (85 year old) Dad isn't feeling well so we are postponing it. My teenagers start school next week :)
    Have a great day all!

Happy Saturday morning. I was able to get 2 hours of weed pulling in before the heat forced me inside for a break.
Once the front yard is shaded, I can finish up there. And probably have to start all over again tomorrow!
At least there's a few clouds out masking that mean ol' sun.
The heat will make me be inside alot this weekend... and that will force me into getting the house all spiffy for my big sister's visit next week.

Good morning everyone, everything is nailed down, I even bought some new tarps for a 'just in case' scenario. The only thing left is take in the bird feeders. The sun shines periodically as the outer bands of storm clouds sweep past the area. Soon it will be all cloudy with heavy rain. Depending on the storm track it will be a lot of rain or a lot of wind. I will take flower pictures before they get pounded into the ground.

Good morning all, actually it's afternoon, and the rush from the morning meetings and lunch appointment are over and there is some time to be on the internet. Just read an e-mail, regarding break-in's here on the lake and the next lake over. Most folks, us included have not locked the house in months. We even leave it open, windows and doors, when away locally. I guess I need to find the key and lock up. It's a shame when one person can cause you to not trust the people around you.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast. Not a good start to my day...my Dad was taken to hospital by ambulance this morning. All I know is that he is very confused, is having trouble dressing himself and his blood sugar is very high. The waiting is the hard part ... not too sure if I need to go down there. He is 85 so this is very concerning.

Good day everyone, I just blew in with enough wind left in the sails to circle the globe. Lots of stories. The power was just restored and I can finally get my Stew. Big cleanup everywhere but it could have been worse as Irene was reduced to a tropical storm when it hit. The wind and rain was still intense and many communities still have to contend with a lot of flooding.

Good Monday morning all. Currently just 9°C Brrrr!! The sky is clear and it looks like a nice day ahead. But it is Monday and I would rather be sleeping in and staying home today. Dad is home and resting comfortably...phew! I'm off to work. Have a great Monday everyone :)

Seen pictures of flooding from storm. Been through flooding from creek . And nothing you can do-but move things to higher ground if you have time. And trailers to get it out of harms way. but such extreme weather. Wonder if Lord is telling us something

Monday AM and the sun is shining. We lost power yesterday for 11 hours due to the hurricane, but no damage. Lots of sticks & debris to pick up, but all is good.

Good day everyone, the day was filled with cleanup stuff. Irene did nothing but create a mess. No energy to tell hurricane stories, maybe later.
