    Some 32 years ago, when we were building our home near Milwaukee, on a very foggy Saturday morning, I was on the roof, shingling. I was right at the peak of our 2 story house. I had been hearing the Geese calling all around, but was completely surprised, when out of the fog popped a flock of them just feet from where I stood. I didn't get hit, but the shock just about knocked me off that roof. It felt like I could have reached out and touched one had I been thinking fast enough.
