I went outside this morning about 8:30 to sit with Chance. I started pulling a few weeds around the steps. Before I knew what was happening I was pulling and chopping and cutting weeds and small stubby trees all over the back yard. On one side of the deck was a patch of overgrown grass. I started pulling that and soon had a giant pile. Needless to say the goats out in back were extremely pleased that I had pulled grass and weeds. They have nice round bellies this evening and there is still enough for breakfast. It did get warm this afternoon but I didn't get overly sweated and I enjoyed being able to be outside all day for the first time since about April. I hope it continues. Tomorrow I want to tackle the stubby trees and brush that continues to try to take over the front yard. Wannabe is coming down next week with my brother and I do want them to see that I'm not really living in a jungle. dooley
Lol Dooley,..i know exactly that feeling,..many a time i spotted something needed doing in the garden,..put down my mug of tea and off i went on a spell of gardening,..forgot about the mug of tea. At least the Goats were happy,..and you will create a good impression for Wannabe.
That spunds very nice and tidy, Dooley....but do you give everything to the goats? Don't you compost any of that stuff? I'll bet that it all looks as pretty as a picture--all nice and tidy for when your visitors arrive.
I finished cutting all the little trees and scrubby brush in the front yard. It took two sessions. It got too warm this morning so I finished this evening. Tomorrow I will have to rake it all and carry it around to the goat yard. I'll use the wagon. I don't compost much anymore and I can't put all the weeds in the compost because of the seeds. Wannabe said I should stop trying to get everything done before she arrives because I'll be too tired to visit when she gets here. She's coming on the 30th. I'll just finish up tomorrow and then "clean" inside. I do need to make a place for them to sleep. dooley
