I can't seem to turn on my anti virus program AVG. I'm something of a Luddite and don't really know alot about this stuff. Any suggestions?

I've gone to control panel and etc., to try this. No luck so far.

Have you tried uninstalling the version you have? If not then I'd give it a go. Once you've uninstalled the one on your computer you should be able to install it again from scratch.

As some of my 'English' friends would say, Bloody Brill! Prompted me to reinstall AVG and voila, back up and running.

I'm glad you have AVG on your computer again. Fingers crossed you'll have no further trouble now.

Glad it was that simple FBG. That happened to me and it was a nasty virus...had to take my computer in and have it cleaned professionally. It was a royal pain in the butt, but all is well now. Now I run Malwarebytes as well as ESET ... you can't be too careful!
