well I WAS going to grump (weather)

    Some of the big old trees have split just like bananapeels around here, with huge gashes in them. Most tree damage is to Alder around here, some maples, the harder woods, and of course the cottonwoods. A neighbor had a big hearty palm tree laying over like it was in a frozen monsoon, flat on the ground, and now popped back up like it never had a problem in its life.

    banana peels is a perfect description! I took my doggie for a walk today just to scope out the neighborhood and it was amazing, some of the damage. Mostly to the very old, well established but not recently (or ever) pruned trees. I never thought Id much promote hiring an arborist, but a friend of ours does that so we hired him right after we moved in. Wow, the trees he pruned up had zero damage!
