My wife Bette is thrilled at how well her roses turned out this year, so I took these photos to show them off for her. Soon the Japanese Beetles will be here and make short work of them.

Daniel, those are beautiful! tell her we all approve. You can ward them off IF you aren't afraid of using a systemic insecticide. Bayer makes a rose and flower food fertilizer and insecticide combination, that when watered in and the plant takes it up, the plant then becomes poisonous to the insects trying to eat it. The first ones to the bush die off and can't spread their pheromone to draw more to it.

They are beautiful... especially on that last trellis. Tell her she that she did well!

Thank you, carolyn keiper. I sure will tell her, and thank you for the info on eliminating the pests.

I just planted 14 more roses. Must go out and spray them. They should be very pretty this year.

My goal is to make some look like yours. They are beautiful.

    Thank you cherylad, will do.

    Thank you stratsmom.

Thank you Droopy. I hope they will also.

Thank you waretrop. I can't wait to see yours. My wife says (with a laugh) that she didn't do anything this year, and they ended up as they did.
