Good Monday morning all. Currently 15°C, clear and breezy. It's cool - what a nice change for working outdoors today!
But it IS still Monday and I have a dentist appointment later today. Not a good day. Have a better day all :)

Happy Monday morning. I managed to get a few things done in the garden this weekend, in spite of the heat. My biggest chore was cleaning out the water lily "stock tank". At least messing with water made it seem cooler. And I'm sure the other plants enjoyed the extra little nutrients that "used" water gave them. Then I pulled some weeds while having the water hoses on both sides of the house on "drip". Also did a little more mulching and deadheading. And pulled up the "dead or dying" plants.
Today, with temps expected to reach 102F... I'm glad I have an indoor job... with AC!

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 13°C and clear. I spent the entire work day in the veggie garden on my hands and knees yesterday weeding. Today more of the same...3 days last week were too hot out there and the weeds have gotten WAY out of hand!! Have a great day all :)

    Morning everyone,

Its been a little cooler here the past few days, although by the end of thr week, its supposed to be HOT again, which is fine with me, its a long weekend here, Canada Day on Sunday, although the holiday is Monday.

I'm home today, so i need to water and weed a little, and go to the grocery store too.

    Have a great day all.

Good morning everyone, It rained yesterday, 1.09 inches but it is cool here and the mosquitos have a hard time getting their wings to flap so there are few of them flying about. The local mud puddle has the ladies practicing takeoffs and landings, meanwhile the larva are not being fed. :)

While we got half inch rain Sun AM , my garden friends a few miles away, got up to 3 inches. And don't think any is in sight. Worst thought is that this dry weather started late summer last year & seems like these patterns hold for more than a year or 2.
The crops are looking good yet,as are my tomatoes. But,with near 100 degree temps that are coming things will go downhill fast.
And the Japanese Beetles are swarming. This is our 3rd year for these beasties & they are bad.Always something to keep us on our toes.

Good morning all. The temp hit 100 on Sunday and 104 yesterday...more of the same for the rest of the week. Just hope there are no 40+ days in a row coming up this summer like last year. I am already trying to figure out which plants to pull up because I can't keep them watered enough...thought I had pretty much all drought tolerant plants but I guess heat tolerant isn't one of their assets.

Tom where have you been? How are things in your neck of the woods?

Happy Tuesday afternoon. Another 100+F day here also. I waited until 7pm last night to go outside and water. Just standing there with the hose, sweat was pouring off me. Even Sassy Marie chose to sleep in the house last night. Bet that tile floor feels so good on her tummy!
Will have to get out the Miracle Grow and give the potted plants a little food this evening.

Good morning all. The day started at 5:30 a.m., way too early for us, each year our single lady next door neighbor goes to Indiana to spend a couple of weeks with her Mom and we take her to DFW International Airport at 6 a.m.

I have already watered everything front and back but not the side shade bed yet. I'll get it when I water everything else again tonight.

Temp was 106 yesterday, supposed to be a little cooler today...maybe only 103. Then settle into the 100-102 range for several days after that. No rain here for 25 days and since the heat cap has settled down on top of us there is none in the long range forecast. A nice tropical storm coming on shore down around Houston and heading north would be a good thing....much needed rain but none of the damaging winds. But even that isn't in the forecast.
