How I water my tomato & pepper plants.

    2 liter soda bottle, flower pot and a little gravel is all it takes. Sink flower pot into ground at base of plants add gravel ( it helps with drainage) and soda bottle. .Fill with water or fertilizer and all goes directly to the roots. I did mine when plants went into ground this spring. A couple times I had to hose them out because holes get plugged.

    On a large scale this would not be easy, but for the small home gardens it works very well.

    I did that once when we went on vacation. I put 40 liter bottles I saved, in the garage, filled with water and my friend had to simply swop out the bottles for me while I was gone. She didn't mind it at all and happily took home fresh tomatoes for her not-so-hard-work each day!
