http://www.antiquealleytexas.com/ We will be away from Sept 21-23 Got a motel room booked for Friday and Saturday nights that weekend in Cleburne.
Not sure of how much of Cleburne we will see this time. We have been there in the past checking out antique/junk shops. The Antiques Alley doesn't sound very long, it is a 37 mile trip from Cleburne to Maypearl and then a second highway from Grandview to Itasca, but it's probably going to take most of the three days we will be there to stop and shop everywhere. Homeowners and businesses along the way have garage sales for those three days, there is even a nursing home/rehab facility having a rummage sale to raise money for resident activities. I just hope the temperatures will stay in the really comfortable range and no more of the triple digits.
Toni, you are going to have a great time! We expect to see pictures of your purchases so we can all envy you.
What a week-end you're going to have!! I hope you have extra transport for all the goodies you'll find. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather is warm and dry but, not too hot, for you both. Safe journey and enjoy!! :-D
Have a great time. Toni----just one question: Will you be hiring a 40 foot trailor with a truck, or something larger?
Okay, we have packed the minimum amount of things we will need for the weekend, mustn't waste space with stuff when there is 37.5 miles of possible fantastic junque to be had!! I just hope we find something and not like the trip we made with out oldest daughter in June when she found nothing and I found 2 small items. But either way, it will be a nice weekend away from home It is now Sunday almost evening and we are home, weary, worn out and very sore of leg and feet. There are many rusty treasures in the pickup truck that will have to wait until the sun goes down to be brought inside. I'll get photos done tomorrow.
Hey Toni, I used to live in Keene, just a few miles from Cleburne, and I have ex relatives there... There are some good flea markets down there, or at least there were. I got a cool Federalist styler mirror for $5 at a local flea market this summer. The eagle or pineapple is missing though. Maybe I will find one sometime. Hope you find some good stuff! I think the mirror is a reproduction. However, my dresser is genuine Federalist in solid oak, and perhaps close to 200 years old ? I got it at a flea market for $65 a long time ago, and refinished it in the late 90s. here is a cool Federalist style mirror .. ( photo / image / picture from AAnightowl's Garden )
