I have been a member for several years, but I have not been around for quite some time. Just thought I'd drop a line to say, "hello -- again." :)

Well, it has been a long time. Glad to see you have returned. Did you get that trailer home renovated...you were going to rent it out right? How's the garden? ;)

Been living in the trailer for 5 years, now. We own the trailer, but rent the land. I was assured that I would be allowed to have a garden when we moved here.

The first two years went OK, except that my raised beds kept getting sprayed with weed-killer.

The next year, AFTER I had planted the beds, the landlady made me get rid of my garden beds. Year 4, I planted the one garden bed I was allowed to keep at the hitch-end of the trailer. I also started getting creative with containers on the patio and an un-used back porch. (we have 2 back doors)

This past year, She made me get rid of my containers, potting soil, AND the hitch-end bed. I was not allowed to grow ANYTHING.

We are looking into finding a new place to live.

Well Hello April, Welcome back. Your landlady SUCKS!

Oh my husband saw this and said I wasn't very nice, nor did I know the whole story. I said "She isn't allowed to have a garden. that is all I need to know!"

Now I am so bad according to him. :D

Welcome back April, I'm with Carolyn, your landlady must have a crooked thumb, not the kind that gardens.

    Carolyn,
Your husband is right. You don't have the whole story. That would take too much time and REALLY upset everyone.

Here's another little example of her personality:

She told the people two trailers up that they have too much company and from now on if she thinks too many people are visiting she will call the law and have the visitors forcibly removed from HER property. Meanwhile the 21 year old right next door has a loud party every night, and she's OK with that.

April, Here is a big *HUG* for you!!!!! Hope you can find some place else to go soon. Is there any community garden area close where you can have a little garden for your family? That would help keep you busy AWAY from where she has control of what you are doing and still have something to show for the being away time.

YIKES! I would move as soon as I could. Or I would invite a group of off duty police men to come to the house for a cook out. Wouldn't she get a surprise if she was the one run off for harassment. ;) Welcome back. :stew1:

Hi April, Welcome back to the Stew! So sorry your mean landlady won't let you grow anything. There is something wrong with her! :stew2: She sounds like the scrooge of gardening.

Or looking to get that Lady FIRED!

Unfortunately, she OWNS the trailer park, so the only escape from her to leave.

While she really makes me mad, I try to look at all of these instances as God making us uncomfortable enough so we WILL make a move.

We are actually speaking to someone about a rent to own situation with a much newer trailer home on 11 acres. My dreams have expanded over the last few years to include chickens for eggs and some dairy goats to go along with my garden. :)

Obviously, we are not ready right this red hot minute to get the animals, but we would like to be somewhere that will pose no problems once we ARE ready.
