Unknown Ireland Plant

    Another unknown Irish plant. I almost looks like a weed or wildflower, but I was so taken with it, I took its picture home with me. I so often do very close up pics of flowers, so never have leaves for better ID.

    Please excuse my interruption, Eileen, but I think I know this one.

    Pondlady, it looks like [info]Verbena bonariensis[/info], an annual from South America.

    I think you got it gardenplansirland.That is a pretty plant.I have verbena dark purple and light lilac,

    After looking through my plant books I decided to take a break and have a wander around the garden. Guess what I found?!! Yep I have the exact same flowers growing beside my eucalyptus trees - definately a verbena!!!! Sorry I couldn't get a piccie but it was already dusk when I went outside. I'll try to remember to take one tomorrow.

    Verbena bonariensis it is, but it is perennial not an annual. It also self seeds all over the garden too!

    so pretty! I know you have already Ided it but I jsut wanted to say, that it looks like my butterfly bush when it hasnt been watered in a while.

    I would love some seeds....coughs...
