Recently got myself a bird box as I have a lot of blue tits coming in and out the garden. I heard the box needs to be facing a certain direction for them to take to it? Is this right?

Lukey birds won't generally use boxes that face south as they're exposed to direct sunlight from dawn to dusk. Boxes facing almost any other direction will be fine. Even a box facing north should be OK if not exposed to extreme cold from northerly winds during the breeding season. Hope this helps and that the blue tits move into your box. :-D

Will it be on a pole or in a tree? If in a tree... make sure it faces out.
