Any advice as to what color I should refinish these nightstand?

This is my room now, and I am planning on getting a "Moroccan" style rug in grey or yellow in a few months.

    Any advice?

If you plan on keeping the curtains and bed comforter, I think a dark stain would look good.

The stain on the night stand should either be a warmer stain or a cooler one, depending on the other colors in the room, and it's hard to tell from your pictures and descriptions.

you should consider the whole feeling of your home, choose the colour match with other furnitures, your wardrobe, desk, chair, bed.

I'd go for one of the stains that gets darker the more coats you put on. That way you can start off quite light, leave it to dry and then go a shade darker if you want to.

I used one on the skirting boards in my conservatory. I got it near the colour I thought would work and went back the next weekend to give it another couple of coats, which ended up being exactly the colour I wanted.

I would tell you which one it was but as a new member am just a bit cautious about the advertising thing :-?

It was great to apply too as you use a kind of shaped sponge which is far easier to get a smooth coverage than a brush. If you look in any good DIY store you should find something similar I guess.
