Yesterday, dr brought the tubs of fall decor from the shed and we sat down to go through it. There were lots of small scarecrows, pumpkins and a nice basket full of mini-(not real)pumpkins and gourds with fall garland. There were a couple small scarecrows and a turkey in it. It may be a tad bit early for the turkey but it will stay in the basket and sit on a side table. I now have four fall tablecloths so I can change off. Two are cloth and will need washing and two are vinyl and can be sponged off.
After we finished in the living room I took a couple of pictures. dr did the loveseat. I think it needs a tad bit more orange and brown in it but it does look nice. See what you think!

So, doesn't it look a lot like fall is here?

More orange, more orange, more orange....but then I love orange. But it looks very welcoming, both of Fall and people....good job dr.

I used to decorate a lot for Fall and the other seasons too. Seasonal decorating is great cause you can keep them up for three months and really enjoy them. I have more Halloween decorations now though and sometimes they are up for Sept through November

You are going to let us see the other decorations when they are in place, right?

The crocks and stoneware are all Marshall Pottery from Marshall, Texas. I've had the cast iron stuff for many, many years. We have it all over the kitchen and living room.

We live in a 16 ft wide mobile home and the kitchen/living area was one big room. We've divided it with cabinets and shelves and put up some pegboard on the back of some cabinets and hang stuff. We've always been collectors and have been trying to clear clutter and just keep the things that are important to us. Space is a premium so it's hard to determine where we can put any holiday decor and I really like the fall stuff. I don't have too much Halloween. A witch or two is about it. I do want to see if I can get some more outside stuff though. Depends on what I can find at a reasonable price. I keep checking the thrift shop but there is just mostly Halloween stuff.

I fell for your décor, Dooley.
What can you tell about that sofa covering?
It is so interesting to see the things there in your living room.

Sjoerd, the blanket is a 4 stripe Hudson Bay Trading Company blanket made in England during the 1800's. They were often seen back in those days during the big fur trading business. The mountain men and the long hunters used them to keep warm and many were fashioned into a long coat called a capote. We have a small collection of various types of these. This one is dr's favorite and the best one of the lot. He,also, draped a Navaho saddle blanket over the middle and that is the fancy design.

Thank you! We've had over the years collections of things and then found other things and sold some of what we had. Now, at our advanced age we have mostly what means the most to us.
