First time this season!

    Fired up the wood burner for the first time this morning. They were saying down into the mid 20's, but it only got down to 34. But it still felt good! :)

    I checked with the prognosticators at NOAA and they said you should have a surplus of firewood at the end of the season. Two years in a row with a surplus Captain!! Perhaps you have a new measurement tool for global warming. The Ohio log index. :)

    I've had ours going for a week now. I love the warmth of the woodstove, but I'm not too fond of the warmth from stacking the logs!

    Firewood warms you 4 times. Once when you cut it. Once when you split it. Once when you stack it and once when you burn it!

    Ds firing ours up right now. After 40+ years was going to stop using wood. He got divorced moved home. First thing he bought is a Big splitter.

    We have had fire in our stove at night for several days now.Not every night.I can't stand to be chilly & I really can't stand to hear furnace kick on.
