My poor machine has been busier than ever with a whole raft of gifts and home decorations made in October,November and December...

This is the final tally of gifts for our newest nearly-nephew,Reuben,who was born on the 3rd of December.

These are little Japanese inspired bags to put favours in for Christmas lunch

I have taught myself a technique called paper-piecing and have used it to make a few Christmas cards

The next 3 pictures are personalised mug rugs also using paper-piecing.

I have one more big project on the go still but as it is for Mark who knows nothing about it and who sometimes reads bits and pieces here I can't post any pictures until after Christmas.

Oh my heavens, what lovely hand-made gifts! Your sewing machine must have been hot to the touch for the last three months. I can't believe anyone could make so many lovely things, and "I taught myself a new technique"--goodness girl, don't you have enough techniques already? I'm impressed, very, very impressed.

Cheryl,I think you're correct although there isn't much chance of it happening because there are things for me in the queue just waiting their turn :D

Marlingardener, the new techniques are practice for a quilt I'm entering in a competition next year and might be suitable for some of the elements I have in the plan. The thing about sewing is that there are soooooo many techniques to have a go at and any one of which might be one which really gets you excited, which the paper-piecing does. :D

Goodness what a lot of sewing you have done and everything looks really great. Sometimes I miss the all day sewing marathons. Time to give yourself a rest.

I really enjoyed doing paper piecing, you get such exact points and the smallest details with it. I sewed quilt tops for a designer for a few years and the last top I did for her was a queen size with all the blocks done using the paper piecing technique...really pretty but took almost forever to complete

Attic Windows was also one of my favorite block patterns too. So many ideas for things to put "in those windows"

I can't pick a favourite from these wonderful items. You are sooo good!

I hope Reuben will appreciate his luck in being nearly your family. Your mother's wall hanging is very, very nice, and Shaun looks very life-like eh... TV-like. :D

They are all lovely, but my favorite is that little knitted sheep from Wallace and Grommit. He is adorable.

I rarely get a chance to sit at my sewing machine and do much of anything. The waiting projects are just piled high in my sewing room.
