Good evening! The day just flew past and here it is getting dark, again. It was sunny and 60's and breezy. It was bringing leaves off of all the trees. Looked like a brown snow storm sometimes. I counted 8 big blue jays and more than a dozen cardinals at the feeders this morning. We bought another feeder and filled it with just sunflower seeds. Hope they stay around to eat all those sunflower seeds. Have a good evening.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -10°C and overcast. We had more snow last night. Off to do the last of my shopping, errands and groceries today. The kids are home for the holidays today, and an hour earlier than usual. I'd best get going! Have a great day all :)

Happy Thursday morning. It's raining lightly here at the office. Our temps are supposed to be in the low-to-mid 70s.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -2°C and snowing. It looks very pretty outside today, and I don't have to go anywhere so I am not going to complain about the snow. Today the kids are home so we will put up the Christmas tree. We need to do some re-arranging first, and then the fun will begin! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Warm this morning 66 deg  Cold air will start pushing through this afternoon but nothing like the ice storm a while back. There is rain in the immediate area but as usual nothing is falling on my garden...chance of thunderstorms early Saturday though so there is still hope.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast. There was rain overnight, which froze leaving a thick layer of ice on everything outside. The dog had trouble walking as the top layer of snow was covered too, hurting her paws as she fell through. I will take her out again later. This morning my youngest begins her 3rd day a week figure skating classes. This one is called "power hour" and she is going to get a good workout! Off to try to get the ice off the car, have a great day all :)

Good morning all. What a difference in temperature 24 hours can make, it was 66 when I got up yesterday morning and only 36 when I got up this morning 24 hour later. It's been raining for almost 2 inches now, nice steady somewhat heavy rain. Not going to do much to refill the water reservoirs, we need heavy rain that creates run-off to do that but the rain and occasional release of nitrogen into the air has made for a very nice morning.

Baking two batches of Cinnamon swirl bread today to take to Randy's folks for early christmas with his family tomorrow.
My cinnamon bread baking as been much easier the last 5 years since I got a new kitchen stove with a working oven. A little story about http://www.gardenstew.com/blog/e285-162 ... oaves.html

Good Sat morning. Have been watching birds at feeders. They are in a frenzy because of coming snow.Experimenting with wire halo to try & deter pesty sparrows. What a bunch we have. They chase off good birds.Big pigs.
Only problem is wire scares off sparrows but cardinals are leery too.

Happy Saturday morning.... almost noon. It's around 74F. Drizzly. Breezy. Kinda of a yucky day. But a good day to open the doors and windows and let in some fresh air.
Guess that cold front Toni mentioned will work it's way down here overnight.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently-6°C and freezing rain. We had freezing rain almost all night, and there are many places without power. I was lucky - we still have power so far. I just walked the dog and there is a thick crust of ice on top of the snow. Radar shows this storm stopping at approx noon, but unfortunately my daughter has to be at work at 11. The roads here have been plowed and she has snow tires so I think she will be OK. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate winter?? Off to do a bit of shoveling, and then some baking. Have a great day all :)
