A gardening friend and I are looking for a really large variety of Jalapeno seed. Want one large enough for stuffing. All the growers here have is the medium size and do not put the variety on the label. I am talking about the really big ones. Anyone know of a good one ?

There is one called Mucho Nacho Jalapeno (totally tomaotoes.com maybe),

Seedway (http://www.seedway.com)has one called "Mammoth" 4 3/4" x1 3/4" Described as a good "stuffing/grilling " pepper milder than other jalapenos, plus a few other varieties I have never heard of.

HPS (http://www.hpsseed.com) has one called "Jalapeno Goliath Hybrid" 4"x 1 1/2" But are listed at 6000-8000 scovilles so I think they are a little hot for the average palate.

Thanks Carolyn,, the first sounds like what I want. He would like the hotter one. Will look those up. We are tired of the midget jalapenos we get here.

You are welcome. I hope they are what you are looking for if you get them and if you do let us know how they did for you and if they met your expectations, too.. I haven't grown any of them, myself. I usually just do early jalapenos for salsa.
