As you all know, I just got my first smart phone. I hear all about apps for this and apps for that.
I really don't see myself stuck to this phone while I'm in the garden.
But... while out and about, I could see myself looking up a plant to get more info than what's on a label.
Or trying to ID a plant.
I did a quick online search and a couple look like they could be fun to have... upload your photos, make wish lists, etc.

I'm just curious... do any of you have gardening apps on your phones? Or do you just rely on internet searches (and the Garden Stew of course)?

    Pollinator.org/beesmartapp.htm pretty sure it's free

Leafsnap.com -- helps ID plants by photos of the leaves free for iPhone and iPad

http://www.herbology.com.au/ photos of herbs, this one you have to load through the APP store on your phone.

Culinary Herbs & Spice Bible at https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... 5.culinary will cost $1.68 No photos but information on how to cook with different herbs and spices.

Did you get an iPhone? Some of these may not be available to Android or other smartphones.

I have Leafsnap and Garden Guide 7.3.
Lately I have discovered using Siri on my iPhone ... just ask and she finds the information online! This is very handy when your hands are muddy LOL

I don't have a smart 'phone but do have lots of books to refer to. Of course the internet is always there if I can't find what I want. Have fun with your 'phone - it certainly seems to be a great asset if you want to get info while away from home.

I looked around at some apps... and I totally have to agree with you all. Not worth it. All I need is just an internet search WITH you all's opinions and experiences. Although... I did download one of those QR/Bar Code apps. Oh yeah... and that little note pad thingy. And...I've become pretty reliant on my G Drive. Got my whole wish list complete with photos and descriptions right there. I actually reduced the weight of my purse by half by getting rid of all those pieces of paper.

I was gonna ask iOS or droid lol I'm on my 2nd droid from event to galaxy ring (virgin) and on ios I have most of the gardening apps on my account lol a favourite is iplant allways have got on my 2nd gen touch at 3 bucks it's still updated as needed

On droid I find good stuff is harder to find but in fairness I've been on iOS sence the 2nd gen touch my first iPhone was the 3GS and that was after 4 launched (that 3GS took SO much abuse STILL worked!) I've only been on droid sence about x-mas so that may be a factor as well
