It has been busy here, and I frequently fall asleep here at my computer in the evenings. And then last Sunday, my monitor died and I had to wait several days for my new one to arrive. I am way behind on everything for some reason, and am trying to play catch up. I have not forgotten anyone. I have bulbs up and peeking out for spring. The Canadian geese have been flying north for spring too. Yay. I love to hear them honking their version of "99 bottles of beer on the wall" or whatever they sing while traveling such long distances. I will try to catch up here soon. I hope all of you are well.
Happy catching up AAnightowl, sorry to hear your monitor decided gave up. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Canadian geese will not make a U-turn
Thank goodness you managed to get everything up and running again within a few days. Computers are all very well as long as they are working but when they go wrong ..... totally frustrating!! I've been hearing geese overhead for a few days now. When I hear them going over the house I know spring can't be too far behind.
I'm quite certain when those geese get wise to our cold, ongoing winter, they will be doing a U-turn!
Sorry about your monitor issues. That sucks. My online life has become such a part of me that I'm grateful I have other devices with which to connect. If my computer fried itself into oblivion, I think I'd go mad if I didn't have my iPad, Galaxy, or phone with which to interface with all the things I have going on in my online life!
Oh, what a shame about your monitor, but sure am glad to see you back! We have paperwhites in bloom, and the ducks are going back and forth from lake to pond, just as they do before they migrate. We'll be lucky to have them for another two weeks, and then they'll be gone until November. :'(
Nice to see you back AAnightowl,..oh its a bummer when the computer goes awry,..its like someone cut the string to communications with the outside world,..glad all is well with you now,..but those Geese,..99 bottles of beer on the wall,.. ,..sounds like you are still in good mood.
I see there is a lot to catch up on, and this is not the only forum I am behind with. I have seen a lot more geese flying north. I love to watch the birds migrating. Many of my bulbs are up--daffodils, tulips, irises, lilies, etc. The grass is beginning to green up now. And the maple trees are budding. Spring is on the way. I bought a new rose bush last week, but still have it in a small bucket soaking. It is growing like crazy, but we still have cold nights, and my other roses are not yet putting out leaves. March is usually a good time to plant roses here. My new rose is Rosa The Fairy. My church's computer went down last Friday, and is still in the shop. The tech guy got sick and is in the hospital. It crashed while I was using it, and that blue screen of death came up, it reformatted itself. What a nightmare.
We have had a lot of things break around here. My new cp giving me fits. Glad you are back.Right now can receive emails-but not write them.
The spring peepers are out tonight, but I think they will hole up someplace tomorrow night again. It is to be 18' tomorrow night. Tonight only 41'.
Oh! The spring peepers!!! Oh how I miss that sound! AAnightowl, do enjoy your new rose, 'The Fairy' I think it is a particularly fine rose.
Thank you Cayuga. I was in Big Lots recently, and they had rose bushes for sale for $3.75. They looked good and healthy and had lots of green growing already, so I decided to get one. It was hard to choose. They are grade 1.5, which is pretty good. I hope I can get it planted before long. I put it outdoors on nice days. It is down to 32' F, and sleeting and snowing. This batch of roses was from the Tyler Tx rose nursery, and they are noted for their good roses. I hope my potted tulips on the porch will be okay? They should be. My tulips in the yard are up already, with other things.
Nightowl, you are going to adore your Fairy rose! We had one when we lived in upstate NY, and it bloomed, and bloomed, and bloomed. It had to be the most care-free, prolific rose we had! We don't have peepers yet, but I heard the ducks conversing on the pond, and our cardinals are predicting "Pretty, pretty" early in the morning. Lordy, I hope they are right!
