Curious where everyone gets their seeds for their plants. I have gotten them from local stores, walmart, and even the dollar general. I have a catalog called Burgess, but I haven't ordered from them yet. I've thought about it, and I know i want to order from them, just have to figure out what, since most of their plants tend to be small trees. So where do you shop for your seed?
I usually pick up seeds on the spur of the moment at Lowe's or Home Depot. Other stores are beginning to stock them, just be sure to check the date on the back of the packet to make sure the seeds are for the present year. While most seeds will remain viable for 2-5 years you never know for sure how the older ones have been stored in the off season. I have ordered them from Johnny's Select Seeds (Johnnyseeds.com), Wildseedfarms.com , Native American Seed (seedsouce.com) , Southernexposure.com , Reneesgarden.com , When you place an order with just about any of them, your address will get around and soon you will have at least a dozen catalogs arriving in your mail box around the first of each year and updates from most of them a few times during the rest of the year. Also, check out some of the ones I listed and others you find and sign up for email newsletters.

Like Clay, I order the bulk of my seeds from Pinetree (http://www.superseeds.com) The packets are sized and priced for the home gardener, the service is quick (I ordered on Dec. 31, 2014 and received my seeds on Jan. 6, 2015), and the shipping rates are quite reasonable. I also get seeds from a local farm/ranch supply, along with onion sets. I am wary of Burgess. I have ordered from them in the past, but find their shipping costs are high, and the packets of seeds are pretty small. There are better alternatives out there such as Johnny's Select Seeds, and Southern Exposure, as Toni mentioned. Take a look at their web sites before you order any seeds.
Over here in the UK I've found that Chiltern's seeds are one of the best. I do tend to pick up some from local garden centres and supermarkets if I spot something I want.
I order from Pinetree also. For my tomtoes I order from Totally Tomatoes. I have had very good luck with their seeds.

Pinetree, TomatoFest, Shumway, locally, I buy Old's seeds in bulk from an independent nursery/grower. These are the ones I find to offer non-gmo, non hybrid, open pollinated seeds that grow best for me.
I found two good sized racks of seeds (Burpee and Ferry-Morse) at Lowe's the other night, Home Depot has nothing yet Of course I bought some, don't know why but they looked too pretty to pass up.
I use non-gmo seeds. I've ordered from MY Patriot Supply. I liked there seeds and have had very good germination with them. Postage was getting rather high so I bought some locally. I've used Vesey's seeds,they are local to Canada from Prince Edward Island. Again postage was too high. Last fall I discovered Johnny's Select Seeds. They are right across the border from me in Maine. Their seeds are a good price and they charge no more to ship to Canada then to do in the U.S. Haven't planted these seeds yet. Can't wait until spring to plant and see how these seeds do.
Chrisle, I think you will be very satisfied with Johnny's. I've only ordered from them twice, and split the order with another gardener, but we both had good germination and were pleased with the tomato plants. Take a look at PineTree--they are in Maine also, and have reasonable shipping rates as well as a good selection of seeds.
