    I miss that feature from the old software, can it be added here or is there another way of doing it?

    Hiya Toni, the URLs have changed to include the title of the thread within the URL. These are easier to read before clicking the link. The way I copy them is to click on the web address area in the browser and right-click->copy.

    There is a more finicky way to make the URLs shorter but it would require an intermediate step. I can let you know if you're up to it :D

    bit.ly is an easy online URL shortener to use. Just type bit.ly in the URL address bar of another tab, paste the link in the pink box near the top right corner of the page and press the 'shorten' button.

    Actually the process I was looking for is the one that would turn a really long URL from another website into a short link here in a post. We could click on (URL) copy/paste the really long website address in....(URL=long website address)word or words you wanted to be the hot link(URL)*

    Thanks for the info about bit.ly

    KK is correct :like:, just to fix a little formatting in your message. Here's how it should look:

    Code:
    [URL=http://www.gardenstew.com/threads/caption-competition-380-winner.34869/]Caption Competition[/URL]
