I thought you might like to see a few shots I took the other day when Ian and I were in the Glencoe area of the Scottish Highlands.

Toni I know how much you love mountains so I took quite a few with you in mind.

Nice photos Eileen, I can imagine the cold. Just last Thursday we went to the Puy de Dome where the skiing resort is and with some snow in the distant slopes. It was freezing cold!

Actually, despite snow still being on the mountains, it was a beautiful day. Ian and I didn't wear coats as it was so warm and sunny. However, the next day (back home) it was teeming with rain and hail and was bitterly cold. That's Scottish weather for you!!

Your country looks a lot like the western U.S. It is gorgeous.

Eileen--I really enjoyed your foto display this time. They are lovely, the land is lovely...and I have seen that myself in person! Such a fantastic landscape. When I was in that area we parked the auto and just did a bit of "wild walking". It was exhilarating. Thanks so much for this walk down memory lane.

Not too far. It took us about four hours to get there but that included stops. The landscape may look barren but I think you'd be surprised at the amount of creatures you can find there. There are Golden eagles and Marsh and Hen harriers, otters, red deer, mountain hares and many smaller creatures and birds. If you just sit quietly it's amazing what an abundance of wildlife can be seen.

Your description of the wildlife sounds like a Springwatch episode.
