Saw this guy yesterday. From the New England region and was unsure what type of moth it was. Some help in identification would be great! Thank you.
Thank you for the response toni. The Antennae in the front seem to match pictures and the colors/patterns on the wing are identical.
Sometimes it can be difficult to ID a moth or butterfly from the coloring and design on the underwing....many of them are different and even different from male to female. It is a beautiful, but weird, looking creature.
Well done Toni!! You're right it is a weird looking creature - almost tarantula like at the front end.
