I think I've settled ... only thing left is to get some worms to occupy my worm hotel :)

The lawn mower that I abused was sent for repair. It was a Bosch Rotak 32. I sent it to the shop which was where I bought all my gardening machinery from for more than 20 years. They told me it would be ready in a week but after 2 weeks with no feedback from them I decided to check on it and gave them a call. I got a rude shock when they told me that my machine is already obsolete and Bosch is closing down. The offered me a new mower at a discounted price so they said. Before that I check with Amazon for the parts which is still available and this model of machine is still available in the market. Lots of other dealers in UK too have the parts. I only had mine for about a year and the half so I guess these morons are up to no good so I decided to take back my machine. I was furious!!!

Having no lawn mower and the grass was growing fast, I decided to get a new gasoline powered small mower. After shopping around I found one at a much better price than those morons "discounted price".

The mowing was fun with this new baby, it was like driving a Mercedes AMG CL 65.

Anyway feeling unsatisfied about the lawn mower incident I decided to write a complaint to Bosch. They were surprised and asked me to sent the machine back to their authorized service agent to get it fixed. I went to their authorized service agent and was informed that they would replace a brand new machine at the cost of repairing the machine. That was an excellent deal and I accepted immediately.:) I was asked why was I not informed of this by the shop that I sent the machine to? ... I guess they just wanted to get the new machine for themselves and sell me another machine. I guess I was just too trusting in the past.

When the new machine arrived I was pleasantly surprised that they gave me a bigger machine than the one I had. It's a fantastic deal and now I have two mowers!:D My son just bought a house and guess whose Christmas present is this going to be!:)

I'm so glad everything worked out in the end for you KK. If you hadn't been so persistent and called Bosch yourself things could have turned out very differently. Bosch is a very popular company over here too and make power tools as well as garden equipment and there's no way they are closing down. I'm happy to know that they're a company that listens to and helps their customers out.

Bosch is closing down? What planet are they on? :D Definitely glad it all worked out for you KK. As the saying goes "the squeaky wheel gets the grease", you spoke up and were listened to. Which one will be the Christmas present?

I'm so glad it all worked out! Exactly why I hate going to mechanic's shops ... many think they can pull stunts like that.

Thank you Eileen, yes things could have turned out differently.

Thanks Frank, the electric one which is still in the box is going to be the Christmas present. A electric mower would be just perfect for my son because there is only minimal maintenance compared to the gasoline type.

Thanks Netty, I feel exactly the same as you and I will never ever going to set foot in that place ever again.

I had been using Bosch products since the first day I bought a power drill 30 something years ago and that same drill is still working. When I was working Bosch is one of my customer, they have a factory here in Penang manufacturing automotive parts and it was great working with them. I guess only a moron would say that they are closing down and that is what that guy is.

Incidentally my worm hotel now have 6 new residents .:)

Good for you, KK, looks like you're the overall winner here! How stupid of that shop to treat such a loyal customer in this manner, you'd expect to be given excellent treatment.
Oh, where did you find the new worms, did you have to go digging for them?
Before you know it, there will be loads. A year ago there were practically no worms in my garden, but now, after lots of planting and digging in compost, there are tons of them! The birds come and feed on them, too :)

Thanks Gardenelf, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that some of the worms I had would return to the compost pile.
I got the worms from Becky's mother garden. :)

Hahah, reading your post I thought: "What? Bosch closing down? What did I miss?" And then I panicked a bit before I realized that the shop people must have suffered a moment's madness. Glad you persisted, KK. Congratulations on your new toy.

I like Bosch power tools too. Come to think of it our battery-powered lawn mower is a Bosch. It has never given us any hassle over the years.

Sorry to panic you Droopy, a battery powered lawn mower is great but we do not have it here. :(

They're very quiet compared to the petrol ones. Maybe you should give Bosch a hint? Since they're not closing down I mean. :snicker:

I'm sure they are aware of that, the problem is with the price. A battery powered one would cost about 3 times more than a corded one, I do not know why ... maybe the taxes?
