Heritage Nursery West is up and running. I help manage the yard, which is watering, deadheading, checking daily for signs of trouble etc. and keeping the plants looking good, not to mention selling and giving advice! We have had some crazy weather to deal with, rains, wind, heat, pretty much typical Nebraska weather. We primarily supply contractors, but are open to the public too. Fun job

Well Kay, you just showed me heaven on earth! What a wonderful place to work (and it sounds as if you really, really work!).
I'm drooling over your photos, as I would be over the plants!

I wished we had your nursery near us. I be a leading customer! I spotted a few things I would be getting, like the beautiful hydrangeas.

Kay I think we're all secretly jealous of the job you have. What gardener wouldn't love to work where you are?

Thanks for the comments, friends! Just a few more images... The 5 young men I work with deserve so much credit for all their hard work. A year ago, this was bare ground. The new building and surrounding landscaping has been fun to give my input on. We are located right next to a big landscape supply business which sells rock, mulch, dirt, flagstone, pond supplies, etc. It is a very congenial relationship we two businesses have. We send people there, and they send them to us. We do not sell anything they sell, and vise versa.
I especially love the concrete walkways we have between each plant zone. It makes it so easy to maneuver carts and get around when it is wet.

Kay isn't it amazing what can be transformed from bare ground to a very well planned Garden Nursery in the space of a year,..very sensible planning to have the concrete walkways,..great to have a big landscape business next door,..complimenting each other sounds promising for the Nursery business.

Great foto´s of your new workplace. It is the kind of place that I would love to visit.
Congrats on the job and I hope that you will enjoy working there a very long time. You´ll have to send some updates from time to time.

Lovely! Must be like heaven working INSIDE a greenhouse :) (especially when you're working inside and the outside weather is less than nice) ;) :)

To quote what everyone has said, "What a great place to work". My problem would be that I would be spending most of my paycheck on flowers and shrubs.....at least at first until my yard was too full for any more plants.
