Well I got the fron yard mowed all but a one mower wide pass along the house to the gate when I ran outa gas. Went through the gate to where I had put the gas can and to take a break and heard a beeping sound the freezer under the patio was thawed out and complaining. We hurriedly threw away old stuff from the house freezer and bug freezer plugged in the camper and pressed it into service and with some frantic rearranging got most every thing back in the freezer throwed away or thawing out. Guess its time to make sausage.

This past weekend I a lot of pot planting of flowers and a few herbs. It was in the 80's out and seemed like the perfect time. Of course this week it's barely getting out of the 50's, but I'm happy to see what I've planted thus far.

Porch1.jpg Here is a view of the front porch. I planted NG impatiens and violas, and cheated by buying 4 hanging baskets of petunia ;)

Porch2.jpg I also planted a couple of pixie lily and two mandevilla...

House1.jpg Here is the side of the house where I have some verbena. Please excuse the weeds! Very embarrassing! I plan on weeding this weekend. Along with hopefully picking up a couple more mandevilla :D.

I swore up and down that I would not buy plants before we leave on vacation...but I broke that swear and bought 3 Bee Balm and 3 Gibasis geniculata (Bridal Veil) for the shady front bed created when I pulled up all the Obedient Plants that were literally taking over the front yard. Tomorrow morning I will get them in the ground.
Also, I would never recommend Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana) in a civilized garden bed...only in a wide open field where you do not care how many plants it runs over in it's successful effort to claim all the land around it.

Nice pics of the garden centre delivery, Raddang.
Planted runner beans and French climbers. Began thinning beetroots.
Had to water the broadbeans, onions and strawbs....then what happened?---it rained. typical.
The stuff at home on the windowsill and balcony are coming along, but like Raddsang, I am not planting the toms and other tender plantlets out just yet.

Got new plants in larger pots at least so they will have more moisture than Mom Nature is willing to give them. They will go into the ground next weekend.
I bought several packages of bulbs at Dollar Tree a couple of weeks ago, got them planted then and now they are all sticking up green leaves....mostly glads.

Today I transplanted 50 capsicum and 5 cucumbers and 2 courgettes and I planted a row of beetroot seeds. Tomorrow we will put an automatic watering system in our tomato house and transplant our tomatoes.

It was an active day in the lottie today.
Started off by making some comfrey tea out of the Bocking 14 stems that have grown wildly over the past two weeks.
I put up the bean poles and planted the beans that I had germinated in root trainers at home on the windowsill.
Harvested spinach for the third time this year.
Planted a small patch of corn and netted it right away because the crows and jackdaws might pull the plantlets out of the soil. They are silly like that.
Checked on the bees and they are making honey. I had to place a second honey box on one of the hives.
I did an enormous amount of weeding.
Planted out a couple of courgette plants as a test. I am not entirely sure that they can handle the weather yet. We shall see.

watered. sold plants. found a swarm of bees had taken up residence in my bee vacuum in the shed and I just so happened to have a call yesterday looking for "help" with her bees... so I called her back today to see what she had done if anything and offered her the little colony. she and her husband came and helped me plant tomatoes (another 70) while we waited for the bees to stop foraging. sent her home with a bundle of bees in the back of her car.

Finally got the tomatoes pruned and strings hung from the purlins to string the tomatoes up. tomorrow I will put the electrical conduit together to do the cucumber strings. ( it was easier to get than actual greenhouse materials today. so that is what we are using. nothing to do with electricity at all.). Weeded the corn and greenbeans in the tunnel as it poured down the rain. my hands are so stained from the tomatoes by the way.

Today I weeded and mulched one of my gardens. Then I watered with the watering cans. I put in strings for my tomato house, 45 tomatoes. I harvested peas broadbeans strawberries and a lettuce. Now it is lunchtime. Oh yes, I crushed some colorado beetles.

Had my first farmers market of the season. Came home afterwards and was was busy selling all afternoon too. After dinner Kevin and Caity went fishing and I planted new cantaloupe watermelon and zucchini seeds since the slugs ate most of what I planted earlierbthos week. Planted up a few more tomatoes and came in to clean the house at 9 o'clock. I am tired.

Dug up the remainders of 2 fence posts that had rotted at the base and were falling over (we took the panels down a few weeks ago) and put up new posts. We were exhaustipated after that! Digging up the old posts was not fast or easy. And somehow, one of the new posts was 6" too tall...we figure the old post had been a 7 footer instead of 8, which the rest were. We had to dig the old hole a bit deeper which was a pain.
Personally, Id rather have had a pro do it, but the bf wanted to go cheap and DIY haha
