Good afternoon all. I am excited. I have just received a job offer. Looking after a house and garden. I will get paid for gardening, let's see if this works out. I won't have to rely on selling my vegetables, but I am not free to just go into my garden whenever I feel like it. It is 4 days a week, so I will be able to juggle my time.

Odif, what good news! It is also good news for the homeowner--having you tend the garden will be so good for the plants.
I just got in from picking beans. I sure wish you lived close enough to get pressed into helping out!

Good morning all. The temp reached 95 here yesterday and should be up around 100 for the next week. Pretty much my gardening time is a thing of the past now with the rare exception of an early morning cloud cover.
Today I will read. Back a couple of months ago Randy, as a HAM radio operator, was working at the Indian Pow-Wow that happens every year locally and met a gentleman named Samuel Holiday who was a Navajo Code Talker during WWII. He was talking about his experiences and autographing his book Under the Eagle so I have a copy I am going to spend the day with.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10°C and overcast. I hope it doesn't rain until this afternoon because I have a lot to do this morning. It's actually a busy day all around!
Have a great day all :)

Good late morning all. Got out and watered everything this morning and from watching the weather reports last night we are heading into 100 degree days starting over the weekend and the rain chances are dwindling away.

Good morning all. Supposed to hit 100 today and tomorrow. Today we are heading down to do some work on Randy's folks house and it's supposed to be hotter further south...oh whoopee!
    Back this evening.

Toni, I do hope you and Randi don't overdo! It's good of you to help his parents, but you twp shouldn't stress out.
It's hot here, too, but we have a good stiff breeze going, so the heat isn't oppressive. We turned the fans on in the coops, and I did my watering/picking/weeding early this morning. Now I'm contemplating baking pesto bread, or making some Italian potato salad (no mayo--just lemon juice, herbs, and olive oil on baby red potatoes). Or I could talk my hubby into having take-out Chinese tonight:rolleyes:!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 22°C and windy. There looks to be a storm blowing in.
We have had extreme heat the past few days, and yesterday was filled with thunderstorms and tornado warnings. Today will be more of the same.
I need to get to the grocery store, but I am timing my trip very carefully by the storm clouds so I don't get stuck driving in a storm.
I'm also hoping to get some weeding and mulching done today, while the ground is good and wet. So much for Sunday being a day of rest!
Have a great day all :)

Good monday morning all. Currently 18°C and overcast. Looks a little dark to the west ... hope we don't get rain!
Off to work to begin another fun filled week of gardening. Sometimes I still have trouble believing people PAY me to do it! Awesome.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. The repair work on Saturday was easy enough, one of the bathroom floors needed replacing but the hot part was in the garage cutting wood. We got home about 9 Saturday night and raced to see who would get the shower first while the other one fixed the drinks. Then it was a couple of hours of mindless HGTV programs.
Yesterday was another scorcher, 96deg (35c) thankfully not the 100 they had predicted. But today will be another hot and dry one. Thunder rolled over us about 5 a.m. but it was just thunder, no rain at all. Now it is all heading down Jane's way according to the radar but at the same time it is dissipating so she may not get much, if any, rain either.

Good Tuesday morning alll. Currently 15°c and overcast. We had a bit of rain overnight. Off to work for another day of chasing bunnies... My workplace gardens are crawling with hungry bunnies this year!! There are coyotes on the property, I wonder why they aren't catching the bunnies? Rain in the forecast again today, I hope it waits until the end of the day.
Have a great day all :)

Good evening all. Hot here too, not only are the weeds crispy when walked on, you have to watch out for the large cracks in the black clay we have for soil. Some are already 12-18 inches long and getting deeper each day. The electricity went out this afternoon in a large area surrounding us,.....mid afternoon when the heat was greatest no AC but it was only out for just under 2 hours. Haven't heard what happened yet but most likely some doofus flipped the wrong switch when he left for a late lunch.
It is nice and cool now and since we have ups units on our computers no harm was done by the sudden shut down.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently just 11°C and windy. It's pants and a jacket for work today!
Yesterday I discovered that the lotus I planted the night before had been completely eaten by rabbits - all that was left was 3 tiny little pieces of foliage! I'm wondering if that is where my sea holly and lisianthus went as I haven't seen them since I planted them! Grrr ... this means WAR on BUNNIES!!
Off to work, where the bunnies also roam. Have a great day all :)

So. Good morning everyone. Its a clear 72 F out and my peppers and watermelon are coming up nicely. I really need to get around to tressing up my cucumbers too. Maybe after work today Willy will let me put him down long enough to do that.
