My first head of brocoli and first courgettes and a few garlic. Some large strawberries and small florence fennel as well as a large romaine lettuce.
I'm full of envy looking at all these great harvests. I've only had asparagus, garlic scapes and a few strawberries so far.
We were gone for a day and when we got home last night I picked a huge tray of cucumbers and a few zucchinis out of the high tunnel.
My asparagus is on the wane and I am already looking forward to fresh stalks next year. The Cream Pea plants are blooming, the Scarlet Runner beans have bloomed but I don't see any signs of beans...darn, we love those beans. And my Chocolate Cherry Toms are ripening in small numbers slowly so I have a few to eat every day and none that go bad before I get to them all. The Okra is coming right along. I started cukes too, if there are any, they will all probably curl up on themselves in this heat but the plants are nice and green.
All I have been able to pick is asparagus but it won't be long before the broccoli and chard are big enough to pick. I'm a little green with envy over all the vegetable and fruit that I've seen in this post but that's what I get for living on top a mountain!
After the rain stopped I picked two cucumbers that I could reach without going into the muddy garden, and a big bunch of basil. I spent a happy hour making pesto, and then another hour airing out my basil/garlic smelling kitchen! 2ofus, don't be envious. When you are picking, freezing and canning, we'll be sitting out the hot months, waiting for the garden to recover, or to replant.
Deepwoods, those are lovely squash and cucumbers, and cute peppers. Are they the hot type? Went out to tie up tomatoes (again!) and luckily had my harvest basket with me. I picked a few cucumbers, two nice sized bell peppers, and quite a few tomatoes. Amazing what you find lurking under a tomato plant once you get it tied up! Lunch will be a large cucumber/tomato/red onion salad with balsamic vinagrette, and French bread--and then a nap.
Been busy in the garden...have harvested a good bit of vegetables over the past weeks. This is from this morning.....Cherokee Purple tomatoes, Glacier tomatoes, Brandywine tomatoes, sweet peppers, cucumbers, kale, swiss chard, and some basil.
raspberries 15 pints, blueberries 6 pints, snowpeas, snap peas...... and we have a few greenbeans that still need picked.

This is what I got today, the potatoes are called Rubis, they have a light pink skin, which may not be evident in the picture.
