Please meet Hosta Wet Nurse. She shields, nurtures, protects all sorts of babies. Struggling tree peonies, seedling rhodies, little transplants unceremoniously dug up & plonked in pots. She takes them all to her breast and offers them a safe place to recover. She even protects them from the lawn mower! You may not be able to tell but she is surrounded by babies. Think of that giant female characer in The Nutcracker...who shelters all those little Ponchinelles.
