Just a few of my repeating perennials. The violets are the only new plants this year. Needed something to fill in for the mini hosta I divided and finally found a place for. Japanese anemones Black eyed Susan's have bloomed all summer and are still going strong The phlox I dead headed have stayed in bloom most of the summer. I like the combination of this unusual aster with the red hollyhocks I have the fall crocus scattered about and edging the sidewalk and paths. I'd never thought of them for cut flowers, but our house sitter had love little bouquets placed around the living areas. Simply perfect. Sometimes not staking works too. Part of the hosta garden
Gorgeous Flowers! I like all of them but especially the asters and fall crocus. They are so bright and cheerful.
Jewell those Violets are vivid,..i always see faces in the bloom,..mostly doggy faces lol. The Black eyed Susan's are fantastic,..such contrast in color,..i am in awe of your Japanese anemones,..lots of big full blooms,..didn't you do well with your Phlox,.. dead heading all summer paid off. That Aster is unusual with the dark eye rather than the usual yellow,..nice. Your garden looks well,..the Hosta and the Ferns go down well,..nice to see the Owl again
2forus I do like the pink and lighter purples in the garden. Lucky to have so many fall blooming perennials. Philip, I have to admit the fall/Japanese anemones have become one of my favorites over the years. I was given the starts years ago from a long ago neighbor. They have nicely multiplied. They are such a nice, big double with a profusion of blooms. I still need to build my shelter for the owl bench. It's on my long list of projects.
Beautiful garden , Jewell!! What a good idea to deadhead the phlox continually....so you get continual blooms.
That's some beautiful stuff you have there Jewell. The flowers on my Chocolate Joe Pye weed 'Eupatorium rugosum' popped open on the last day of summer. The bee's and butterflies are all over it. I'm surprised I even got any flowers, as I planted them late June.
