I feared after moving to a new bungalow, also splitting the plant in Spring that my Canna would not flower this year but I was wrong. Not only that the split Canna has flowered too and I have a pup plant from the mother plant in a pot. All being well I can make a feature with the three in a circle next Spring. I hope to keep the three indoors all winter inside the small hallway where its frost free. K
I agree with 2, the foliage offsets that flower very well. I grow a maroon leaved canna too but our season is too short for it to blossom. I don't care, those great big tropical maroon leaves earn a place in my garden every year.
Beautiful colored bloom Kate,..and the contrast with the dark leaves is stunning,..fingers crossed for you with placing three together next spring,..that image will be very impressive.
Gorgeous color...around here they seem to think everyone wants dwarf cannas, the larger ones are hard to find...How tall did yours get?
That is a gorgeous specimen, Kate. Will you take it in for the winter when it stops blooming? Gosh!!!---that is a very pretty one.
Its in fleece now. I have one in fleece in a back garden border another in a pot wrapped in fleece. One I chopped down which is in the decrative stone border. Be awesome to have three Cannas together... Thanks everyone! Kate
