I have been trying to catch up with fall chores --they never seem to get done in a timely manner here. The weeds are always far ahead of me. I have been working on that, and I did manage to get my lawn mowed a full time this week. And I got some of my new plants put out. I got six more raspberry plants (tame), and two more blueberry plants. I lost one over the winter with all the zero and subzero temps we had. I put them into tubs. The wild black raspberries are in the ground, and thrive. I bought some new strawberry plants, as many of my previous ones did not make it through the winter either. They are in that raised bed my son built for me a couple years ago. I know I posted it someplace, but that might have been a different forum. I am sorry, but I cannot get that new photo program to do anything. I might ditch it if I cant get youngest son to help with it. It is one he uses. And while I was hauling compost around for the containers, I was backing up my wheelbarrow to turn it around (why doesnt someone make a zero turn wheelbarrow?!) I went too far, and fell over backward into one of my raised beds. Other than bruises and scrapes, I think I am okay. I am thankful for that... Just been keeping busy with my church, my gardens, and my forums... I hope all of you are well.
When I read your post I was almost there with you helping you plant up. Then I read about your fall which wasn't nearly as pleasant. I'm just glad you didn't do yourself too much damage. I hope the scrapes and bruises heal quickly.
Sounds like you got a lot done out in your garden AAnightowl! I hope to get started in my gardens today, and you've just reminded me that I could spread compost. I'll try to be careful not to fall though
Golly, you take care of yourself, a little trip can take ages to get better from, I have twisted my knee, a nothing injury really but every now and then it hurts and catches me by surprise. And do we ever really get ontop of all the jobs in the Garden? I sometimes think I purposely leave the odd job as then I just have to go back out on another day.
I also planted more potatoes and Egyptian walking onions. I have onions all over the place. And some more mint, and some violas. I thought I killed my lavender, but it is showing some green, so maybe it will live after all? I put it in that old broken spreader, which is in some of my garden pictures. I am keeping my rosemary indoors until it warms up more.
Glad to see you posting again! Spring hits all gardeners hard, but especially those of us who take a tumble. Glad the fall in the spring (yes, a pun) didn't hurt you too badly. Keep gardening, keep cheerful, and please keep posting!
