I am surprised you can eat parsnips if your skin is so allergic to the folage EJ. Hope that rash passes quickly.

EJ, what a shame, and I do hope you can recover quickly from that really nasty rash!

It is odd and my daughter who has anaphylaxis to eggs suggested that I probably shouldn’t eat them especially as my foliage allergy seems to be getting worse, so not only am I not going to grow them, I am also going to avoid eating them.

That looks nasty! I've grown parsnips at work and never gotten the rash ... guess I've been lucky so far. But I don't enjoy eating them and don't grow them at home.

Boss gets the same sort of reaction from Radish leaves. For me it is Goosegrass (Cleavers, Sticky Willy whatever).

Ewww. That looks painful. Hope it gets better soon. And I agree.... Do not eat them anymore either. At least it is not a major additive in most veg. mixes or dried and used as a spice like onions. I have a friend who is allergic (anaphylaxis ) to light blue petunias and pepper foliage. Bell peppers are the worst for her. Hot peppers are less reactive. She lives on benadryl when she is at my greenhouse helping me.

    Oh my word !
I recall the pics that you posted some years ago.
Good idea that you are going stop growing them...it isn't worth it, is it.
