I recognize the creeping Jenny but that’s it. I love the combination, want to do it myself, but need to know what I’m looking for Anyone? And then there's this, in a different container. The leaves are thick, so I'm guessing it's a succulent. I love the proliferation of yellow, and I really want to do this next year.
I didn't recognize any of them, other than the creeping jenny. They are really pretty so I would consider showing the picture to someone at a good nursery and see if they knew what they were.
what a lovely planter. the blue one is salvia. I have seen the orange one but nothing is coming to mind... and I see and recognize a lot of flowers but that one is not at the top... it could be that it is "vegatative reproduction only" for it and not from seed.... so it is not normally the plants I see. did you look closely inside the pot? many times the tags are pushed inside the edge for each of them. If they are vegatative or PPF (propagation prohibited) plants then they each should have their own tag... that said, I don't always put every tag in with every plant as its just another step. sometimes things die and get replaced and the tag is not added or the original one removed... the yellow one doesn't look remotely familiar... I like it though.
Carolyn, thanks for the suggestion to look inside the pot! It's on the patio of one of my clients, and I'll definitely look Monday when I'm back there! If all else fails I can contact their landscape crew and ask them. Though I've dealt with these vendors for my clients over the years and in a lot of cases they don't have a clue either. They go to the nursery and buy what looks pretty, oftentimes purchasing plants that are completely inappropriate for the location...shade plants in the full son etc. But I sure can try. Meanwhile, if anyone else has any ideas, let me know!!
Oooh....OK. This is the Bacopa. This is mine The bacopa leaves look sort of serrated. Does that make a difference?
I have never seen bacopa in yellow nor do i think it is bacopa. The leaves actually remind me of chickweed. And I think the orange one has the word "cross" in it's name.
The leaves of the orange one look very hibiscus-like, but the flowers do not. Except the color. Hibiscus come in lovely shades of orange.
The Salvia is farinacea: https://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/32713 The yellow blooms are ornamental purslane, Portulaca umbraticola: https://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/20429 The orange blooms are Crossandra: https://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/9001478
thanks Purple. I was hoping you would chime in... I knew the orange was one I have seen in catalogs but I have never grown it.
