Rain, beautiful rain! We had 2" overnight and everything looks so much better. We are hoping for more today. Like Netty, I can now pull weeds rather than snapping them off at ground level. Damp soil and weed roots--it will be a great day!

Good morning all, I have put 'Good' back in the greeting since we are again enjoying cooler temps and more rain. The rain isn't a frog strangler but a tadpole would enjoy the little puddles to it's hearts content.
The other day was not quite an inch and this morning so far is almost 3/4ths of an inch. All the heavy rain is east and south of me....as usual but I am loving what we are getting.

Good evening. I watered some mum plants for a customer. He has one that is over thirty years old. It flowers yellow.

Good MOnday morning all. Currently 15°C and clear.
My 4 am alarm woke me for the beginning of another work week. Weather forecast for the week leads me to believe it will be a week with a lot of watering and the relentless heat just isn't giving up. For the first time in my life I will be happy to see fall arrive!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all, more rain overnight which brings our 4 day total up to 3.5 inches which is wonderful. But the rain is supposed to leave us by Wednesday and summer temps will return. The grandkids came by for supper last night, I had a good sized stack of things to get rid of and they took it all.....just moved into a house and she has a craft room so now has room for the crafty things I have been holding for her.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 21°C and clear. Another hot, humid day ahead! And another day of dragging hoses.
Things are getting a little monotonous, looking forward to the cooler, wet days of fall ahead.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 20°C and clear. Another hot day ahead, and some thunderstorms in the forecast today. We need some rain badly!
Just found out that I get to meet a special lady this weekend ... my son met a girl that stole his heart. I hope I get a chance to clean up around my house before she gets here ... I've been so busy that the house hasn't had a deep clean for a while! Exciting!
Have a great day all :)

Morning all....dropped the good again since the temps are back up around 100 and the rain has stopped until maybe Monday then we have a chance of scattered storms. The 3.5 inches we got in the past few days is almost exactly the same amount we got in all of the past 4 months combined. Weather people are still hopeful that we will have a cool and rainy Fall.

Hot ,hot, hot here in New Brunswick. Even on the coast where I am there is hardly a breath of air. We did get a thunder storm last evening and a little much needed rain. Cleaning the cold room today and reorganizing to prepare it for our potato harvest. Will be hauling in potatoes this evening.
    Have a great day everyone!

It's in the 80's here and high humidity. It's turned dark and I heard some thunder earlier when I was sewing. I have the window open a bit and a small fan on one end of the sewing table. I sewed 4 shopping bags, two small kids ones, one medium older kids one and one large one for a man. It has race cars on it. I put the pockets on the inside so they wouldn't cover the cars. dooley

Good Friday morning all and TGIF!
It's been incredibly hot this week, but this morning it seems much cooler and it is raining. We really needed some rain.
I'm hoping the rain makes for an early work day today.
Have a great day all :)

I cut a lot of tarragon and hung it to dry, checked the tomato plants and picked a few cherry tomatoes, and gave the hens water in the new coop (I know that watering chickens isn't all that exciting, but if you don't, it can get really exciting! Thirsty hens can be vicious.)
I baked Portuguese bread and it's cooling on racks in the kitchen. Only an idiot or compulsive person bakes bread when the temperatures are in the 90's. Thank heavens for AC--it kept the kitchen temperature in the low 80's. Good for bread rise, not so much for the baker.
We are hoping for rain tonight or over the weekend. Although we had 3.85" over last weekend, we could still use a bit more.

Clear and sunny here today. No rain from yesterday's clouds. It was about 80 again today. I didn't accomplish much. We went and had a sandwich for lunch and I gave the race car bag to a young man who loves Nascar races. He said,"Oh, boy! I have just the thing for this bag. I know what I will use it for." I'm always happy to see someone who loves a bag that I made. dooley

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 16°C and sunny.
I had a very busy day yesterday, starting with a trip to Costco. Then I made and canned up some salsa, picked more tomatoes and prepared large bags for the freezer for sauce another day, skinned another 6 lbs for canned whole tomatoes today, and also got the zucchini relish prepared for cooking and canning today. Also got all the grass cut, the laundry done and the back garden partially weeded. Phew ... slept like a champ last night! Today I have to can the tomatoes and zucchini relish, and finish the housework and back garden. I'm going to need a day of rest to recover from my weekend!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Another rain storm moved over us last night leaving a little over 8/10ths of an inch of rain in the gauge and enough lightening to super charge the soil and plants with lots of nitrogen.
But today the temperature feels like 87 deg already and is heading into the upper 90s later with very high humidity so the plants will enjoy but I will stay indoors with our nice new AC system running.
