Hummerbum, we agree that tomatoes are number one.
I also love greens and potatoes are a mighty good choice for variety. A neighbor asked if I would care to try small, purple potatoes this year. Always game for trying new veggies, I said yes and happily await planting season.

Peppers are the best for sure.

Well, the season has come and gone. The little, purple potatoes became several dark pink and some yellowish potatoes which I shared with the neighbor who gave the seed to me.

I am currently feeling this, probably because I have had more success this year growing them than ever before. We have a small container garden with 7 pepper plants (California Wonder bells, cayenne and habanero) and 18 tomato plants (pink girl, big boy and cherry).

When ordering seeds for next spring 6/11 packets were of the genus Capsicum!!

Our bell peppers are producing well, considering the lack of rain at times.

Speaking of tomatoes, our's are almost finished.
Frankly, I'm not sorry. This has been a tiring summer
and I'm ready for a rest.
I did plant late lettuce, so I believe a salad is in my near future.

Sprouts I just love them, although they don't seem to see the dinner plate very often :crying:...although they do kick of an autoimmune flare.

Gail, are you saying you cannot eat sprouts?
    Is it only certain types?
I used to grow Alfalfa sprouts. They were easy and very good.

1st, Gail, I have heard a bit about Lupus, but I haven't known anyone who suffered from it. Sounds terrible. I hope there are foods you are able to enjoy!

Petronius, you would have enjoyed our lovely crop of Blue Lake beans this Summer. We ate a lot and froze a lot and gave away some.

Georgia Girl Beth, I may sound like bragging. We also had a lot of yellow squash and cukes. However, I did fail with Kale. Garlic spray has always worked against Cabbage worms, but not this year.

Today I set out 7 short rows of garlic.

Hi @Growingpains i wouldn't wish lupus on my worst enemy it's a nightmare to live with and with having more than one autoimmue disease, foods i've always loved such as peppers, garlic and more make you feel ill...so my choice in foods as been reduced.
