Netty, I did some pruning and removing in flower beds today--nothing as extensive as you have done, but at least I'm getting started!
Catdaddy, our leaf lettuces and broccoli are doing well. Thank heavens for cool weather crops!
Gail, when we have leaf fall, we run the walk-behind mower over the lawn with the bag on, and the leaves get chopped up enough to just dump them on the dormant gardens. In spring, any leaves left are turned into the soil before planting. I must admit we don't have a lot of leaves!

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 5°C and clear. The full moon is very bright this morning!
A productive day yesterday, and hopefully another one today. The Rose garden is on the list today, and that one usually takes a good part of the day.
I hope the predicted rain holds off!
Have a great day all :)

Hi C, I do hope they hold out for you mate..our frost started sunday night in to Monday morning, it's sunny here again today but cold with it.

@marlingardener I used to have a big push along leave collector and blower but the bag got to holes in it so I gave it the neighbour..all weekend I cleaned up, the weather as been sunny but just the slight winds alone have brought a load of leaves again.
Well at least what you have is going to good use.:like:

Cranberry/orange bread is in the oven. Comes out in 45 minutes. It took awhile to mix up so I hope it turns out well. dooley

Oh, yes! It was very good. We had some for supper. I'll be taking one loaf to some friends tomorrow. I do like baking and have some cranberries and orange juice and zest left so may make another loaf.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -2°C and windy. I've got my woolies on!
It's going to be a cold day for working outside, but thankfully we are almost done!
    The count down is on!

Gail, how nice is it to have your fella do the cooking?? My wife loves it when I cook. I mostly do breakfast (I am the omelette whisperer!) but I can do most any meal. I do not bake well though...

Woolies? Not here--although it is rainy and overcast, our temps are still in the 60's, and I picked more peppers today after cleaning the hens' coops.
Catdaddy, omelettes are one of our favorites. We often have some home-made bread and an omelette of some sort for lunch.

I took a loaf of the cranberry/orange bread to my friends today. I told them they could decide if they wanted to share it. They weren't so inclined and took it back to their office for taking home with them. I have half a loaf that we started eating and I think some of it will make a good supper since we went to Golden Corral for lunch. dooley

Hi C, it's nice after being a slave to an ex-hubby who really didn't appreciate me  but that's another issue but years before that I used to cook Christmas cakes to order, birthday cakes and anniversary ones besides foods for when I lived at home years ago but when hubby took over well I will admit luxury mate ;)...well doing breakfast is a nice thing, first start to the day besides gives your wife a nice start :like: I don't know if your like we but it's a 50/50 household and my hubby is a massive believer in it.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 6°C and cloudy.
I managed to get all my work wrapped up yesterday, and so I am home today. I was able to sleep in until 6:30am, which is an extra 2 hours sleep. I really needed it ... I felt so exhausted yesterday and worn out. I think I need a day or 2 to rest up before I get going on all my own gardens. So much to do around the yard before the really bad weather hits!
Off to brew some coffee and plan my day.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. More rain yesterday!!! 2.5 inches in the gauge this morning and even though it is now and will be cloudy all day the chances of more rain are 0%. Nice and coolish too, but warming back up into the high 70's/low 80's for a few days and more rain the middle of next week. All the rain we have gotten so far this Autumn should make for a bumper crop of Pecans next year. A few years ago we had so many on the ground that I could not keep up with. A lady from around the corner came to the door to ask if they could have some and I told her to bring as many containers as she wanted and take them all. She and her kids showed up later with grocery bags and a large metal tub and cleaned up the side yard. I had already bagged up several one gallon bags of them, some in the freezer and some our youngest took to work and put in the break room. We kept many people well stocked with pecans that year.
