I am a compulsive and sadly addicted to,,,recipes ! I cut them from magazines and newspapers and once sweet talked my doctor out of a magazine that had a recipe I wanted ! So now with winter heading this way I am trying to organize them into something legible rather than spending an hour looking for what I want ! I have to do this every so often to complete the recovery process !
Worked on it three days so far,, still a long way to go till I can say I am recovered !
Only good thing to say about this addiction is,, I am never hungry ! Have to try the recipes out you know ! Next hurdle is,, Seafood Balls !!

Nothing wrong about being addicted to trying new recipes or bending your doctors arm for one ;)
Why not get a stick book and label them in alphabetical order much easier to go to.

Add a pic of your Seafood balls please mart...once achieved and don't forget cooks aren't where they are today without constant trying and eating :like:

You might not believe the recipes I had to clean out of my Mom's things after she passed. 25 years of recipes from Julie Bennell, the food editor at the Dallas Morning News. Plus quickly written down notes from the very early cooking programs on TV in the 50's and 60's. Most of them I don't remember ever seeing on our dinner table but most likely they were made and taken to church lady meetings.
My oldest daughter took most of them and tried many of them on her family...the ones they didn't care for went to the teachers lounge so her friends could take what they wanted.

Have no way to put pics on since ransom ware hit my other computer ! It attached itself to my picture program and my picture card ! Not sure about the camera itself !! My camera does not work with the computer I use daily ! Have no idea why,,and even if it did, I wouldn`t try since this is the only one I have !
Phone is confusing so have not learned to do pics with it,,even if I did I have no idea of how to send them to this group ! I may try to figure it out later but I never seem to have the time to just sit and play with a phone ! Somehow that is just not my cup of tea !
Oh yes Toni,, I would believe it ! My mother had shoeboxes full and some in the china cabinet,,,! File boxes and ,, so yes I would believe it ! I am reading through all mine and tossing those that I know I would never make and putting the others in some of the little journal books from the dollar store ! Not trying to write them all just scotch taping them in ! Many of mine are from the newspaper too !

Mine is growing by the day. What I do is to get them digitized, like scanning or manually typing it, if I come across a recipe I like. Before storing it in my computer, pendrive and cloud, I'll try it out, improve on it if necessary. I'll toss it out if I don't like it.
I store in in 3 location is to make sure that they don't get corrupted because they are precious and yummy!!!

They were supposed to be seafood balls Evil Roy ! These had shrimp, clams and salmon ! But when reading the recipe it sounded good ! After frying them they were just kind of blah ! Canned salmon is just too strong flavored to use in this ! Couldn`t taste anything else ! So,,,next time I am going to eliminate the salmon,, stick with the shrimp and clams ,,was supposed to use crabmeat but have never seen canned crabmeat the recipe called for ! Going to marinate the shrimp in siracha and grind it all together,,remainder added last ! That will add both flavor and a bit of heat ! Any other ideas anyone ?
